Caja abierta 105: OSPREY ADVENTURES. Sinbad The Sailor

This is the last illustration I'm going to show of 'Sinbad The Sailor' book for 'OSPREY ADVENTURES', belonging to 'Myths and Legends' collection. 
The illustration of today is the last I did for this book. It's a scene of Sinbad's seventh voyage. In this adventure Sinbad meets some winged creatures in a strange city where he arrives during his seventh voyage and is living for a while. The city residents and these winged creatures have a special bond and a secret that Sinbad will find out after living between them. They invite Sinbad to travel with them to the Heaven, and in this moment something happens dangerous which will change Sinbad's situation.

Hoy os voy a enseñar la última ilustración que hice para el libro de "Sinbad The Sailor" de OSPREY Adventures, y la última que enseñaré de todas las ilustraciones que hice. Como ya sabéis el libro pertenece a la colección de "Myths and Legends" de OSPREY Publishing.
En esta ocasión, la escena que se representa en la ilustración pertenece al séptimo viaje de Simbad. Realizando este viaje, el último de sus aventuras, y ya con cierta edad, desembarca en una ciudad muy especial con unos habitantes muy especiales y que tienen unas características muy especiales, aparte de unas costumbres cuanto menos especiales también. Sin querer contar mucho de la historia, decir que Sinbad conoce a unos seres alados que amablemente lo invitan a acompañarlos en un viaje hacia el cielo, pero que antes de llegar ocurrirá algo que hará cambiar muchas cosas en ese viaje. Y como diría Mayra Gómez Kemp: "Hasta aquí puedo leer"

I also show on my 'attic' (blog) the sketch of this illustration. As I know some people likes seeing sketches of the illustrations, I like showing on my 'attic' (blog) all i's possible. You can see I did the background first and after I drew and coloured the figures over the background in other layer. That's how I could study the best composition for the illustration.
Ya sabéis que suelo enseñaros los bocetos, a veces éstos sólo son de líneas a lápiz o digital, otras veces tienen color, bueno eso depende del momento y la herramienta usada, o donde reside la importancia de la ilustración. Mucha variación no hubo en la terminación del fondo del el boceto a la imagen final, sí más acabado en algunas partes. Y aunque en las figuras centrales tampoco hubo variación de diseño ni postura o composición, sí podéis apreciar más claramente la terminación de la ilustración definitiva con respecto al boceto.

When I can show more illustration I do for Osprey, I will do. The second book I've illustrated for OSPREY will be published in March of next year. It'll be on pre-order the previous month. Por el momento esto es todo lo que puedo mostrar de mi trabajo para OPSREY. Hasta marzo del año que viene no se publica el segundo libro para el que he hecho ilustraciones, que estará en pre-venta el mes de antes (creo).  El título de este segundo libro es "Odin: the Viking All-father". ¡Qué ganicas tengo ya de que salga!  ^_^
